How AC + AP works
One gateway (the "AC", access controller) runs the network; slim access points in each room broadcast the same Wi-Fi. Phones and laptops roam between them without dropping calls (802.11k/v/r), and every AP is cabled, so speed does not halve with each hop as in wireless-only systems.
