- 10GBASE-SR: multimode fibre, LC duplex, up to 300 m on OM3
- 10GBASE-T: RJ45 copper module, up to 30 m on Cat6A (runs warm — normal)
- DAC: passive direct-attach copper cable, the cheapest and coolest way to link two SFP+ ports in the same rack
